Velox SDK

A working platform from day one.

Velox is our own Linux and RTOS build environment. Its primary design goal is to give customers a significant launch platform so they can begin rapid development of the features that will actually sell the product, rather than wasting time on complex infrastructure development.

Where Velox came from

The many ways of creating a cross compiled image for a target platform, one that meets the needs of the project at inception and keeps doing so as it matures, often result in an unstructured and poorly maintained code base. The time spent getting this infrastructure in place can be significant, and costs can escalate before a single line of useful code has been produced.

Generally, the person who develops this infrastructure ends up as the only one capable of maintaining it, which is a real single point of failure in a fast changing market.

s2ack also recognised that most products have a main Linux processor plus sub processors running an RTOS or baremetal code, which tends to lead to separate repositories and build environments. Velox is a self contained hybrid SDK that integrates the RTOS and baremetal capabilities and lets a single repository host all of the code.

What can Velox do for my business?

Platform and Product configuration

Multiple products can be generated once your base platform is in place.

No environment headaches

Takes away most of the complicated environment setup issues for Linux and microcontroller systems, so your team can write the code that really makes your project work.

Faster, lower risk

Greatly reduces your time to market and risks.

One repository

A single code repository for Linux and RTOS/Baremetal targets makes your projects much easier to maintain and support.

No tool chain guru needed

Removes the single point of failure in these days of rapid staff turnover.

Proven

Proven on multiple Linux hardware platforms and smaller microcontrollers.

Two ways to work with it

Package one

Complete Model

  • Contains the complete Velox SDK
  • Suitable when the end user does not have the resource to support the addition of extra libraries over the lifetime of the project
  • Most libraries delivered are generic open source packages covering a wide range of applications. Bespoke or uncommon libraries are not included
  • Delivers a fully installable complete Linux system onto the target EVM hardware, using the required cross compilation tool chains for the product

Package two

Development Model

  • Contains the complete Velox SDK plus guaranteed Development Services
  • Guaranteed consultancy for the duration of the project at an agreed rate
  • Designed to aid the end user in the development process by offering software development skills and expertise in a consultancy role

What target platforms does Velox run on?

Velox is proven on a range of Linux platforms and microcontrollers. Ask us which products it works with out of the box. Our off the shelf platforms run the Velox Linux image and can be used in your product directly, or simply as a development platform for your custom hardware.

My platform is not listed, will Velox work for me?

Yes, if the Linux kernel has been ported then it will work. If you need help we can do it for you. Contact info@s2ack.com with any questions.
